Bidding Method

Bids must be made by clicking the “Bid” button displayed on the screen of this web page (the “Live Auction Website”) which displays images and other information of the works subject to bids as well as status and changes in intended purchase price.

SBI will not accept cancellation of a bid and/or modification of intended purchase price.

Bids on the Live Auction Website shall be deemed void in the following circumstances:

(1) If a higher bid is made(including bids made by SBI on behalf of Prospective Buyers);

(2) If an Auctioneer refuses to accept a bid;

(3) If the bidding ends without reaching the Reserve Price; or

(4) If the Auction is suspended.

Successful Bid Price

The price at which you won the work on the Live Auction Website will be the Successful Bid Price of the work. Successful Bid Price is not subject to consumption tax.

Other costs to SBI in addition to the Successful Bid Price

Successful Bidder shall pay an amount equal to the Successful Bid Price, 15.0% of the Successful Bid Price as fees (“SBI’s Premium”) and consumption tax on the SBI’s Premium(the total is referred to as the “Purchase Price”) to SBI.

You are responsible for shipping fee, packing fee and insurance fee which apply as follows.

※SBI ships works on cash on delivery only. The shipping and packing costs on above list are for reference purpose only and actual fee may vary depending on shape and material of the works. Please inquire us for shipping and packing costs of the work that is larger than size 50　(French standard size, 116 x 89cm).

[Insurance fee]

If the purchase price (including SBI’s premium) exceeds ¥ 300,000, additional insurance cost will apply (about ￥ 50 yen per ¥ 10,000).

SBI can help you with quotes for international shipping, as well as wooden crating or Tri-wall boxes packaging and courier delivery services.

In case the Successful Bidder receives the work outside Japan, it may be subject to local taxes (like as Duty, Tax, VAT) and custom fees. It is calculated based on the amount that appears on the invoice.

Approximately 0.5% of the Purchase price (including SBI’s premium).

In such case that the estimated insurance fee is less than ￥ 3,000, the minimum charge of ￥ 3,000 will be applied.

Payment Period

You shall remit the Purchase Price within 10 Business Days from the day of the Auction (the “Payment Period”)

You shall pay the Purchase Price in Japanese yen by wire transfer to the following bank account (the funds must be received in the account within the Payment Period). You are responsible for paying all fees and expenses applicable to the remittance due to your bank.

Delivery

- Pickup at the office of SBI

Within 20 days after you completed the payment of the Purchase Price pursuant to the invoice (however, if the last day of this period is not a Business Day, then the period is extended to the following Business Day), SBI deliver the work to the person who visit the office of SBI to pick up the work after checking its identification.

- Shipping

The Successful Bidder may instruct SBI to that effect by mailing a Shipping Instruction Form with the necessary information to SBI. In this case, Delivery to the Successful Bidder is deemed completed at the time of the Delivery of a work to the Successful Bidder by a shipping company in accordance with the Shipping Instruction Form.

*SBI sends Shipping Instruction Form within 1 Business Day from the day of the Auction, and delivers a work to the shipping company within 5 Business Days from the date of SBI’s receipt of the Shipping Instruction Form. It may take 5-20 days until the Successful Bidder receives a work from the day of the Auction.

Defect liability

Because of their nature, works are not new, and accordingly, are sold in as-is condition. SBI bears no liability whatsoever for works stains, damage, or other defects or flaws.

Return and refund

SBI will not accept any return and refund.
